Alter Ego — a new character development system
On the Kumo x1 server, the unique Alter Ego system is being introduced, adding a new stage of character progression and granting access to special rewards.
How to Access the System
After reaching level 80 on the Main Class, experience gain will be blocked at 0.0000%, and the quest for Alter Ego will become available.
To continue progressing the Main Class, you must first reach level 80 on the Alter Ego Class.
Quest Stages:
Stage One — Head to the Cruma Tower and collect 50 Nightmare Crystals by defeating the monsters “Dark Warrior”.
Stage Two — Vovanister will ask you to bring 50 Light Crystals from the Lizardmen Valley. In return, you will receive a special item — Ivan’s Clown Nose.
*Ivan’s Clown Nose is also available in the game shop for balance, to speed up the quest progression for some players.
With this item, go to NPC Margaver to complete the quest.
After finishing the quest, you will unlock the ability to choose an Alter Ego class.
When changing class, your Alter Ego will start at level 40.
Important: Leveling quest chains cannot be completed on an Alter Ego class.
As a reward, you will receive an Alter Ego Reward Chest with valuable items.
Rewards for Alter Ego Progression
1. Alter Ego Certificate
- +2% PvE Damage
- +1 to all Stats
- +10% Acquired XP
2. Alter Ego Reward Chest
The reward chest contains:
- Dye Booster (Sealed) — 30 pcs.
- Magic Tablet (Sealed) — 310 pcs.
- Class Change Coupon (Sealed) — 1 pcs.
- Top A-grade Weapon Change Coupon (Sealed) — 1 pcs.
- Top A-grade Armor Change Coupon (Sealed) — 2 pcs.
- Hunter’s Armor Change Coupon (Sealed) — 2 pcs.
3. Alter Ego Mirror Chamber
- A special zone available only for Alter Ego classes.
- Entry is possible from level 40 to 80 (inclusive).
- After reaching level 80 on the Alter Ego class, the player is rewarded with Noblesse status.
- To receive the reward, you must complete the Noblesse quest by speaking with NPC Margaver.

Subclass Mechanics
Where is this feature available?
Subclass switching is possible not only in peace zones but also directly in hunting zones. However, there are exceptions — for example, on the Olympiad this feature is disabled to ensure fairness and equal conditions for all participants.
What happens when changing class?
When switching, the character loses all active effects and receives a special debuff “Identity Crisis”. It lasts for some seconds and reduces combat abilities: during this period you cannot use most skills and items (potions are an exception), nor switch class again.
What happens to skills?
When changing from one class to another, all skills of the chosen class go on cooldown. This means that after switching you’ll need to wait until cooldowns are over before being able to use them in combat.
Player convenience systems
To make using Subclass switching more comfortable, the Kumo x1 server has a system of automatic transformation of items and parameters. This removes the need to keep duplicate equipment or constantly reset stats every time you switch.
Unified Dye System
In the classic version of Lineage 2, dyes are tied to specific stats, and changing them requires removing the old ones and applying new ones, which comes with costs and extra hassle.
On Kumo x1, this process is simplified thanks to the Stat Dye system — a universal dye that allows you to select the desired stat with just one click.
This gives players maximum convenience and flexibility without extra costs or unnecessary actions.
Class Change
On the server, the class change option is available both for the main class and for the Subclass. This means you can completely change your class without the need to start leveling from scratch.

Class change does not come with penalties — levels and progress are preserved for both main and Subclass. - Unified Restrictions
The same rules and limits that apply when choosing a Subclass also apply when changing it. This means that when switching to a new class, players are subject to the same conditions as during the initial choice.
Why is the Subclass System Needed?
Its purpose is to give players the opportunity to unlock their character’s potential by developing an additional class alongside the main one. This opens up new customization and strategy options: you can experiment with roles, change playstyles, and adapt to different situations.
The system improves balance in both PvE and PvP, encourages long-term character development, and allows players to enjoy the game from multiple perspectives — whether it’s hunting, massive battles, or personal duels.
